Sweet And Sour Meatballs 57

1 pound ground beef
1 Egg -- beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
2 tablespoons shortening
1 Green pepper -- cut into strips
1 Onion -- sliced
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
1/4 cup Heinz 57 Sauce
Cornstarch/water

Combine ground beef, egg, salt and pepper.

Form into 16 meatballs.

Lightly brown meatballs in shortening.

Add green pepper and onion; saut until vegetables are tender.

Stir in pineapple juice and Heinz 57 sauce. Cover; simmer 15 - 20 minutes.

Thicken sauce with cornstarch and water mixture.

Serve over hot rice.
